The Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and strategic academic leader to serve as our Naval Architecture Program Chair. Located in the heart of Pasay City, Metro Manila, AIMS has built a premier legacy of producing top-tier maritime and engineering professionals. In this critical role, you will champion the Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (BS NAME) program, driving academic excellence and cultivating a learning environment that aligns with modern maritime standards.
As the Program Chair, you will be the driving force behind the curriculum's evolution, ensuring it remains highly competitive, innovative, and fully compliant with national regulatory bodies such as CHED and MARINA. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated faculty, encouraging teaching excellence and spearheading meaningful maritime research. Beyond the classroom, you will establish strong linkages with the maritime, shipbuilding, and repair industries, facilitating internships, research collaborations, and robust career pathways for our graduates.

Tanggung Jawab
- Lead the curriculum review, development, and enrichment of the BS Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (BS NAME) program to ensure compliance with CHED, MARINA, and international standards.
- Oversee, evaluate, and mentor faculty members, promoting continuous professional development, teaching excellence, and academic integrity.
- Spearhead departmental research initiatives and encourage both faculty and students to engage in innovative maritime and engineering studies.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with shipyards, design firms, and maritime industry stakeholders to secure student internships and placement opportunities.
- Manage key administrative tasks including class scheduling, faculty workloads, student advising, and departmental budget planning.
- Ensure constant readiness for institutional audits, accreditation surveys, and regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with the admissions and marketing teams to participate in student recruitment, retention campaigns, and program promotions.
Kualifikasi
- Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a highly related engineering discipline (Doctorate degree is a strong advantage).
- Registered/Licensed Naval Architect and Marine Engineer in the Philippines.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably with academic leadership or administrative supervisory experience.
- Strong technical background and active professional connections within the shipbuilding, marine design, or maritime industries.
- Proven track record in curriculum design, outcomes-based education (OBE) implementation, and academic accreditation processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational management skills.
- Demonstrated capability or strong interest in conducting, publishing, or supervising academic research.
