Tanggung Jawab
- Safely steer the vessel under the direct supervision of the Officer of the Watch (OOW) and maintain a vigilant lookout at all times using sight and hearing.
- Perform mooring, anchoring, and cargo handling operations efficiently as a key member of the deck team.
- Conduct routine maintenance and preservation of deck equipment, hull, and superstructure to ensure seaworthiness.
- Assist in the monitoring, testing, and calibration of navigational and safety equipment on the bridge.
- Execute precise helm orders and report any unusual conditions or hazards to the OOW immediately.
- Participate actively in emergency drills and respond effectively to incidents such as fire, collision, grounding, or man overboard.
- Maintain a clean and organized bridge environment and assist in accurate log keeping and operational data recording.
- Ensure strict compliance with the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS) and all applicable international maritime regulations.
Kualifikasi
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate and a Navigational Watch Rating (N/W) endorsement.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience as a Deck Rating or Able Seaman on ocean-going commercial vessels.
- Strong command of helm orders, International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs), and standard watchkeeping procedures.
- Excellent eyesight, hearing, and overall physical fitness to perform demanding deck duties in various weather conditions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Malay is a distinct advantage.
- Proven ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural and high-pressure team environment.
- Willingness to work extended rotational periods away from home (e.g., 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off schedule).
- Valid Passport, Seaman's Book, and an updated Medical Fitness Certificate (MCA or ML approved preferred).
