British School Jakarta is seeking a dedicated and passionate Personal Specialist Learning Assistant to join our Learning Diversity team at the secondary school level. In this pivotal role, you will provide tailored academic and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.
You will work closely with classroom teachers and the SEND department to implement individualized learning strategies. Your primary goal is to remove barriers to education, foster student independence, and champion the wellbeing and academic progress of students across our secondary curriculum. The ideal candidate is an empathetic professional with a strong background in inclusive education, classroom management, and adaptive teaching methodologies.
Tanggung Jawab
- Provide 1-on-1 and small-group support to students with diverse learning needs within the classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson materials, ensuring accessibility for all learners.
- Monitor and record student progress, behavior, and social development, providing detailed feedback to the Learning Diversity lead.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with precision to meet specific academic goals.
- Facilitate a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere that promotes student wellbeing and confidence.
- Assist in managing classroom dynamics to ensure a focused and productive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and external specialists regarding student development.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a support role within a secondary school setting.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation techniques.
- Exceptional command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and the ability to build strong rapport with adolescents.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant certification in Special Educational Needs or Learning Support is highly desirable.
