In this role, you will play a critical part in the lifecycle of complex marine piping systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with international maritime standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design, specification, and validation of essential mechanical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects and shipyard operations, to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet stringent client requirements. Tanggung Jawab
- Design, develop, and document marine piping systems including bilge, ballast, fuel oil, cooling, and fire-fighting systems.
- Select appropriate valves, pumps, pipes, and fittings based on project specifications and maritime safety regulations.
- Perform pipe sizing and pressure drop calculations to optimize system performance and flow efficiency.
- Prepare comprehensive piping layout drawings, isometric sketches, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for procurement and fabrication.
- Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings to ensure alignment with shipyard production standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot design issues and implement cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with Class Society requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, LR) and international marine standards.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience in piping design within a shipyard or marine offshore environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, 3D piping design software like Aveva Marine or similar).
- Solid understanding of piping codes, fluid mechanics, and material specifications relevant to marine applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform complex engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with maritime regulatory requirements and Class Society standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
