About the Role
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a high-caliber Plant Operations Director to join a well-established industrial leader in Pasir Gudang, Johor. Our client is a major player in the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics sector, recognized for its commitment to quality and operational excellence.
As the Plant Operations Director, you will take full ownership of the facility. Your core mandate is to lead comprehensive factory operations, driving success across commissioning, operational readiness, engineering, production, and QA/QC. A primary focus will be on plant stabilization—ensuring that all systems, processes, and teams are optimized for peak performance and reliability. You will champion a safety-first culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the entire value chain.
Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will serve as the key strategic and operational leader for the site. Your responsibilities will involve setting KPIs, managing the P&L, overseeing capital projects, and developing a robust talent pipeline. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, fostering a collaborative environment while demanding accountability.
We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in manufacturing leadership, specifically in managing large, complex facilities. Experience in plant commissioning, operational readiness, and turnaround management is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Engineering and have a strong grasp of Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.

Tanggung Jawab
- Direct and lead all plant operations including Production, Engineering, QA/QC, and Logistics to achieve strategic business objectives and KPIs.
- Spearhead factory commissioning and operational readiness activities for new equipment and process lines, ensuring seamless project handover.
- Drive plant stabilization initiatives, standardizing processes to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and ensure consistent output quality.
- Develop and manage the plant P&L, optimize operational budgets, and champion cost reduction programs without compromising safety or quality.
- Establish and enforce rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, cultivating a zero-harm workplace culture.
- Lead the continuous improvement roadmap using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM tools to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Mentor, develop, and structure the plant management team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial). A Master's degree or MBA is highly preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 8+ years in a senior leadership role (Plant Manager, Factory Manager, or Operations Director).
- Proven track record in managing large-scale factory commissioning, operational readiness, and plant stabilization projects.
- Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrable experience managing multi-million ringgit budgets and driving P&L results.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, capable of leading a large and diverse workforce.
- Willingness to be based full-time in Pasir Gudang, Johor, and manage a complex, fast-paced operational environment.
