Fastrain, a leading electronics manufacturing company based in Perai, Penang, is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer specializing in SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and Backend processes. As a Process Engineer, you will be at the forefront of new product introductions and technology transfers, ensuring seamless integration and efficient manufacturing processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to the company's operational excellence and growth in the competitive electronics industry.
At Fastrain, we value innovation and efficiency. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with cross-functional teams. Your primary focus will be on optimizing SMT processes such as solder paste printing, pick and place, reflow soldering, and backend operations including wave soldering, testing, and packaging. You will conduct root cause analysis for defects, implement corrective actions, and lead yield improvement projects.
Additionally, you will play a key role in new product introduction (NPI) by developing process parameters, creating documentation, and training production staff. Your technical expertise will be essential in selecting and qualifying new equipment and materials, as well as in driving cost reduction initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering and at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in SMT and backend processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of statistical process control, failure analysis, and process validation is required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for success.

Tanggung Jawab
- Optimize SMT processes including solder paste printing, component placement, and reflow soldering to improve yield and productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, cycle time, and costs.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process development, validation, and documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis for process-related issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with quality team to establish and maintain quality standards and specifications.
- Support technology transfer and setup of new production lines or equipment.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and production operators on best practices and process standards.
- Monitor and analyze process data (SPC) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in SMT and backend process engineering within electronics manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, and materials (e.g., solder paste, stencil design, reflow profile).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control tools (SPC, FMEA, DOE).
- Experience with new product introduction and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional language is an advantage.
