Our client, a leading player in the building materials and construction sector in Penang, is seeking a dedicated Procurement / Purchasing Executive (Building Materials) to join their dynamic team. Based on Penang Island, this role offers a challenging environment where your negotiation skills and supply chain expertise will directly impact project success.
In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our project supply chain. You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality building materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery to multiple project sites. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to forecast requirements accurately, evaluate vendor performance rigorously, and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent project delays. Your primary goal is to secure the best quality materials at the most competitive prices, ensuring seamless operations and significant cost savings for the organization.

Tanggung Jawab
- Sourcing and procuring building materials (e.g., cement, steel, timber, fixtures) in line with project specifications and budgets.
- Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the most competitive rates and favorable payment terms.
- Evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and delivery capabilities.
- Managing purchase orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to various project sites across Penang Island.
- Conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to forecast material requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Maintaining accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and inventory reports.
- Resolving any supply chain issues, including delays, defects, or shortages, to ensure project timelines are met.
Kualifikasi
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a valid driver's license and own transport for site visits when required.
- Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and/or Mandarin (to liaise with diverse suppliers).
