Are you a seasoned operations leader with a passion for the food manufacturing industry? Sydney Cake House, a leading name in the Malaysian bakery and confectionery sector, is seeking an accomplished Production & Operations Manager to lead our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility in Pulau Indah, Selangor.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will take full ownership of the production floor. You will be responsible for directing all manufacturing activities to ensure maximum efficiency, superior product quality, rigorous food safety compliance, and the on-time delivery of our beloved cakes and pastries to customers nationwide.

You will drive operational excellence by optimizing workflows, managing resources, reducing waste, and leading a team of supervisors and production operators towards achieving ambitious performance targets.
What you will do:
Reporting directly to the Senior Management, you will be the driving force behind our production strategy. Your key focus will be on aligning manufacturing capabilities with business goals, fostering a safety-first culture, and ensuring every product that leaves our factory meets the highest standards of taste and quality that our customers expect from the Sydney Cake House brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically plan and manage daily production operations to meet volume, cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Champion and enforce GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000 food safety management systems.
- Develop and implement efficient production schedules to maximize resource utilization and minimize bottlenecks.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing production team.
- Monitor production KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime, waste) and drive corrective actions.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Manage the production budget, control costs, and identify opportunities for savings.

Tanggung Jawab
- Oversee the day-to-day production operations to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and quality output.
- Enforce strict compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000) and workplace safety standards (OSHA).
- Manage and optimize production schedules to meet customer demand and minimize downtime.
- Lead, train, and evaluate production staff to build a strong, accountable, and high-performing team.
- Monitor production costs and implement measures to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain product consistency and address any non-conformances.
- Drive continuous improvement projects related to process optimization, waste reduction, and yield improvement.
- Prepare and present regular production reports, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational data.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a Production Manager or Operations Manager role within the food manufacturing industry. (Bakery/FMCG experience is a distinct advantage).
- Profound knowledge and practical application of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and Malaysian food safety regulations.
- Proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing diverse teams to achieve operational KPIs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong command of the English language (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, UBS) is preferred.
- Hands-on, proactive leader with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
