The Energy Studies Institute (ESI) at the National University of Singapore is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Research Associate to join our team dedicated to decarbonization analysis. As the global transition toward net-zero emissions accelerates, the ESI plays a pivotal role in shaping evidence-based energy policy through rigorous research and high-impact data modeling.
In this role, you will work alongside world-class researchers to evaluate the technical and economic viability of low-carbon energy solutions. You will be responsible for collecting complex datasets, developing energy transition scenarios, and producing technical papers that inform government stakeholders and industry leaders. We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in energy economics, environmental engineering, or public policy, coupled with a passion for sustainable development and climate strategy.

Tanggung Jawab
- Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative research on decarbonization pathways and sustainable energy technologies.
- Develop and maintain energy models to project emissions trajectories and policy impacts.
- Perform comprehensive literature reviews to support ongoing research projects on renewable energy integration and carbon abatement.
- Draft high-quality research papers, policy briefs, and technical reports for peer-reviewed journals and institutional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to analyze the economic and environmental trade-offs of various energy policies.
- Organize and participate in workshops, seminars, and stakeholder consultations to disseminate research findings.
- Manage research databases and ensure the integrity and accessibility of energy-related statistical data.
Kualifikasi
- Master’s degree in Energy Economics, Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven experience in energy modeling or environmental policy analysis is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Python, R, Stata, or GAMS).
- Excellent academic writing and communication skills in English, with a track record of publications or report writing.
- Ability to interpret complex technical information and present it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
