Are you passionate about pioneering microâelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology? The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is looking for a motivated Research Engineer (MEMS Module Engineer) to join our innovative IME team in Singapore. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and scaling of nextâgeneration MEMS devices, working alongside worldâclass scientists and engineers in stateâofâtheâart cleanroom facilities.
You will be responsible for translating research concepts into manufacturable module solutions, optimizing process flows, and ensuring reliable device performance. Collaboration is key: you will partner with crossâfunctional teams, external foundries, and industry partners to accelerate technology transfer and bring groundbreaking MEMS products to market.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design and integrate MEMS module processes from concept to prototype, ensuring scalability and reproducibility.
- Develop and optimize cleanroom fabrication workflows, including lithography, etching, deposition, and bonding steps.
- Perform failure analysis and reliability testing to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with system architects and product teams to translate device specifications into feasible module designs.
- Document process parameters, experimental results, and design guidelines in compliance with quality standards.
- Interface with external foundries and suppliers to procure materials and verify process compatibility.
- Contribute to project planning, timeline management, and technical reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science, or Microâengineering disciplines.
- Handsâon experience with MEMS fabrication processes and cleanroom equipment (e.g., DRIE, LIGA, wafer bonding).
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, LâEdit, or AutoCAD for layout design.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis and DOE (Design of Experiments).
- Excellent problemâsolving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting process issues.
- Effective communication skills for technical reporting and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Mandarin or other languages is a plus.
- Prior exposure to semiconductor packaging or MEMS reliability testing is advantageous.
