The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow (Biotransformation) to join our innovative research team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of biotransformation research, working on cutting-edge projects aimed at developing biocatalytic processes for chemical production. Tanggung Jawab
- Design and execute experiments focused on microbial biotransformation and biocatalytic process optimization.
- Analyze metabolic pathways and implement metabolic engineering strategies to enhance product yield.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory instrumentation, including bioreactors, HPLC, and GC-MS.
- Prepare comprehensive research reports, journal manuscripts, and grant applications.
- Mentor and guide postgraduate and undergraduate students in their research projects.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
- Present research findings at international conferences and internal departmental seminars.
Kualifikasi
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Proven track record in biotransformation, fermentation technology, or synthetic biology as evidenced by high-impact publications.
- Strong technical expertise in enzyme characterization and microbial strain development.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, or JMP).
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative research environment.
- Experience in managing laboratory safety protocols and compliance.
