The Energy Studies Institute (ESI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Research Fellow to join our team focusing on Decarbonization Analysis. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to high-impact research aimed at shaping energy policies and sustainability pathways for Singapore and the broader region.
As a Research Fellow, you will leverage advanced quantitative modeling and policy analysis to evaluate low-carbon technologies, energy efficiency, and transition strategies. You will collaborate with leading academics, industry stakeholders, and policy advisors to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical decarbonization solutions. - Conduct rigorous research on decarbonization pathways and energy transition policies.
- Develop and utilize quantitative energy models to assess the impact of low-carbon technology deployment.
- Author high-quality academic papers, policy briefs, and industry reports for diverse stakeholders.
- Manage research projects, ensuring timely delivery of objectives and project milestones.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the university to foster innovative research approaches.
- Participate in seminars, conferences, and stakeholder engagement workshops to present research findings.
- Support the design and implementation of data collection methodologies for energy consumption and emissions studies.
Kualifikasi
- PhD in Energy Economics, Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven track record of research publications in peer-reviewed energy or sustainability journals.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or GAMS for complex data analysis and modeling.
- Deep understanding of global energy markets, climate policy frameworks, and decarbonization technologies.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-experts.
- Ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively within a collaborative research environment.
