Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) invites applications for a Research Fellow (Machine Learning) position in the School of Computer Science and Engineering. This role is at the forefront of applying artificial intelligence to molecular research, focusing on developing and deploying advanced machine learning models for molecular property prediction, drug-target interaction analysis, and generative design of novel compounds. The project is highly interdisciplinary, bridging computer science, chemistry, and biology, and is part of NTU's strategic initiative in AI and data science for health and sustainability.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for driving the research agenda from conception to publication. You will design and implement state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, curate and preprocess large-scale molecular datasets, and build end-to-end pipelines for model training and evaluation. Close collaboration with experimental partners will ensure that computational models are validated against real-world data. You will actively participate in group meetings, journal clubs, and international conferences, and will have the opportunity to co-supervise students.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design and implement state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning algorithms for molecular data analysis and predictive modelling.
- Conduct independent research leading to high-impact publications in top-tier AI and computational biology conferences and journals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers to integrate AI solutions into ongoing molecular research projects.
- Develop and maintain robust software pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
- Present research findings at internal seminars and external academic conferences.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in related projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and progress reports.
Kualifikasi
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, or a closely related field.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed international journals or conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, Bioinformatics, PLoS Computational Biology).
- Proven experience in developing deep learning models, particularly for sequential or graph-structured data.
- Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with molecular data processing and computational chemistry/bioinformatics tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and drive research projects independently.
