Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is inviting applications for a motivated and talented Research Fellow to join our prestigious energy research team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on onshore microgrid systems, addressing the global transition toward sustainable energy and grid resilience.

As a key member of our research department, you will play a pivotal role in the design, modeling, and optimization of microgrid architectures. You will work alongside world-class faculty and industry partners to develop innovative solutions for power system integration, energy storage management, and advanced control strategies. This is an ideal role for a researcher who is passionate about renewable energy and seeks to translate complex power systems theory into practical, real-world engineering applications.

Tanggung Jawab

  • Conduct high-quality research on onshore microgrid stability, optimization, and control strategies.
  • Develop and validate mathematical models for renewable energy integration and distributed energy resources (DERs).
  • Design and implement real-time simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing for microgrid components.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to draft research grant proposals and secure funding.
  • Publish findings in high-impact international engineering journals and present at key global conferences.
  • Supervise and mentor junior researchers and graduate students within the lab.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to project reporting for industry and academic stakeholders.

Kualifikasi

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a closely related discipline from a reputable university.
  • Demonstrated experience in microgrid modeling, simulation, and power electronics control.
  • Strong proficiency in simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD/EMTDC, or ETAP.
  • Proven record of research publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed energy journals.
  • Solid understanding of energy storage systems, grid-forming inverters, and power systems protection.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and independent problem-solving skills in complex research settings.
