Seaman

Outpost X is seeking a dedicated and proactive Seaman to serve as our "General on the Ground" in El Nido, Palawan. In this key role, you will be responsible for the safe navigation and operation of our fleet, ensuring that every voyage meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction.

As the Field Manager on the water, you will lead a team of deckhands, oversee daily operations, maintain vessels, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will be the face of Outpost X at sea, delivering exceptional service to our guests while upholding our commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Navigating and operating company vessels safely and efficiently
• Performing regular maintenance and inspections of boats and equipment
• Leading and managing the deck crew, assigning tasks, and ensuring teamwork
• Ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and safety protocols
• Conducting safety briefings and emergency drills for passengers and crew
• Assisting with guest services, providing a welcoming and enjoyable experience
• Managing inventory of supplies and equipment on board
• Coordinating with the field operations team to optimize schedules and routes

Qualifications:

• Valid Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB)
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Seaman or Deckhand
• STCW certificates (Basic Safety, Fire Prevention, Survival Craft) preferred
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Customer service-oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Knowledge of Palawan waters and local navigation is an advantage
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
