Tanggung Jawab
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all main and auxiliary machinery on board the vessel.
- Perform regular watchkeeping duties in the engine room, ensuring continuous monitoring of machinery performance and promptly responding to alarms or deviations.
- Oversee and carry out planned maintenance system (PMS) tasks, corrective maintenance, and routine inspections of engines, generators, pumps, purifiers, and other mechanical and electrical systems.
- Manage bunkering operations, lube oil transfers, and maintain accurate records of fuel and lubricant consumption.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), and classification society rules.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables, coordinating with the Chief Engineer for requisitions.
- Supervise and mentor junior engine room personnel, promoting a culture of safety and technical excellence.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond effectively to onboard emergencies, including fire fighting and damage control.
Kualifikasi
- Hold a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) as a Second Engineer (Class II or equivalent) in accordance with STCW ’95 regulations.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of sea-going experience as a Second Engineer or Junior Second Engineer on Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) or similar deep-sea vessels.
- Extensive knowledge of marine diesel engines, auxiliary machinery, hydraulic systems, and electrical power generation.
- Proficiency in engine room watchkeeping, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with ISM Code, ISPS Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other relevant maritime regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to safety and operational efficiency.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication on board.
