Our team is dedicated to elevating the level of cybersecurity to fully support ByteDance as well as our clients' digital journey.
As a Security Web Gateway R&D Engineer, you will play a critical role in researching, designing, and developing next-generation secure web gateway (SWG) solutions. You will work on a highly scalable and reliable platform that protects our global network from advanced threats, enables secure internet access, and enforces security policies across diverse environments.
Your responsibilities will encompass conducting deep security research, prototyping new features, improving threat detection and prevention capabilities (including URL filtering, malware detection, TLS inspection, and zero-day exploits), and ensuring top performance and scalability of the gateway systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the globe to integrate security solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Tanggung Jawab
- Research and develop advanced secure web gateway (SWG) technologies to protect against evolving cyber threats.
- Design and implement security features such as URL filtering, web classification, threat intelligence integration, and malware detection engines.
- Optimize the performance and scalability of the web gateway platform to handle high traffic volumes with low latency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including threat research, infrastructure, and product to define and deliver security solutions.
- Conduct security research and analysis to identify emerging threats and develop innovative countermeasures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design specs, and test plans.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response to ensure system reliability and security.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in network security, preferably in web gateway or firewall development.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Go, Python.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols including HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, TCP/IP.
- Experience with secure web gateway technologies (e.g., proxy, content filtering, DLP, SSL interception).
- Knowledge of threat detection techniques, IDS/IPS, and malware analysis.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
