The Bioeconomy Innovation Office is at the forefront of shaping Singapore's bioeconomy landscape, driving R&D initiatives and fostering partnerships that translate research into economic impact.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Assistant Director to oversee a diverse portfolio of industry-focused grants and partnerships. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to national strategies, manage cross-functional teams, and engage with key stakeholders across academia, industry, and government.
Key aspects of the role include shaping innovation policies, managing funding programs, and overseeing projects that advance Singapore's position as a global bioeconomy hub. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biotechnology research, policy development, or innovation management, with a passion for driving translational outcomes.
Tanggung Jawab
- Formulate and implement strategic initiatives to advance Singapore's bioeconomy R&D ecosystem.
- Manage a portfolio of industry-focused grants, ensuring alignment with national priorities and desired outcomes.
- Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with local and international organizations, including research institutes, universities, and private sector companies.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive innovation projects from conception to execution.
- Evaluate emerging trends and technologies to identify opportunities for economic and scientific growth.
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior staff and manage budget allocation.
- Prepare detailed reports, white papers, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Represent the office at conferences, workshops, and networking events.
Kualifikasi
- Master's or PhD in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in R&D management, grant administration, policy development, or innovation strategy.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale grant programs and building partnerships.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and driving projects.
- Deep understanding of Singapore's research landscape and bioeconomy priorities.
- Experience in the public sector or research funding agencies is highly advantageous.
