Are you a robotics visionary passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and industrial application? The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead the advancement of ROS-Industrial (ROS-I) interoperable software systems. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of the digital transformation in manufacturing, developing robust, scalable, and highly interoperable robotics frameworks that power next-generation industrial automation.
You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, engaging with industry partners to solve complex real-world challenges. From motion planning and perception stacks to custom hardware integration, your work will directly influence the efficiency, safety, and agility of industrial production lines across Singapore and beyond.
Tanggung Jawab
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-performance robotics software based on the ROS-Industrial framework.
- Architect scalable middleware solutions to ensure seamless interoperability between heterogeneous robotic platforms and industrial hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception, localization, and advanced motion planning algorithms into industrial-grade systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of code quality, testing, and continuous integration.
- Conduct performance optimization and benchmarking for robotics software to meet stringent industrial latency and reliability requirements.
- Liaise with industrial stakeholders to translate specific manufacturing needs into actionable, modular software features.
- Oversee the documentation and lifecycle management of software releases, ensuring compliance with industrial safety and operational standards.
Kualifikasi
- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in robotics software development, with a deep understanding of ROS and ROS 2.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and highly optimized code.
- Proven expertise in motion planning libraries (MoveIt!), navigation stacks, and sensor fusion algorithms.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, EtherCAT, Modbus) and their integration with ROS-I.
- Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, including Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and unit/integration testing.
- Experience in deploying robotic systems in production or industrial environments is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
