The Municipal Government of San Jacinto, Masbate is inviting applications for the position of Senior Environmental Management Specialist. This full-time role is vital for our mission to maintain a sustainable and healthy environment for our citizens in the Bicol Region. We are looking for an expert who can navigate complex environmental regulations while engaging effectively with local communities to drive positive change.
In this key position, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of the municipality's environmental programs. Your expertise will guide our waste management strategies, pollution control measures, and conservation efforts, ensuring compliance with national and local standards. You will lead a team of environmental staff and serve as the primary point of contact for environmental inquiries, fostering a culture of sustainability within the local government unit.
Tanggung Jawab
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) aligned with national and local regulations.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections of industrial facilities, commercial establishments, and waste disposal sites.
- Lead and manage the city's ecological solid waste management program, including segregation, recycling, and composting initiatives.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, compliance assessments, and recommendations for environmental improvement.
- Coordinate with the Civil Service Commission and other regulatory bodies to ensure all environmental permits and clearances are current.
- Engage with community stakeholders, local leaders, and industries to promote environmental awareness and enforce compliance.
- Investigate environmental complaints, accidents, or violations and recommend corrective actions.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
- Must possess a valid 1st or 2nd Class Civil Service Eligibility (Professional or Career).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, or waste management.
- Deep understanding of Philippine environmental laws, particularly the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret environmental data and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and environmental management information systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for public speaking and stakeholder negotiations.
