We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Intelligence Tools & Platform Engineer to join the Video & Edge division at ByteDance. In this pivotal role, you will own the technical strategy and implementation of our media content distribution infrastructure and intelligence tools. You will be instrumental in powering the world's leading video platforms, including TikTok, CapCut, and other ByteDance applications.
As part of the Video & Edge team, you will tackle complex engineering challenges related to high-throughput media distribution, low-latency edge computing, and scalable intelligence platform design. You will work in a fast-paced environment to optimize video playback experiences, reduce latency, and ensure our infrastructure can handle billions of requests globally. Tanggung Jawab
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable intelligence tools and platform components for video processing and edge distribution.
- Optimize media content distribution infrastructure to support VOD (Video on Demand) and live streaming at massive scale.
- Implement and refine edge computing solutions to reduce latency and improve user experience across different regions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, backend) to define technical requirements and drive product innovation.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in high-concurrency, distributed systems to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers to maintain high engineering standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends in video technology, edge computing, and distributed systems.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend or platform engineering.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, C++, or Python.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and message queues.
- Experience with video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH) and content delivery networks (CDN).
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and deliver high-quality code under tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
