Coherent is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials, and networking components. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our expanding team in Penang. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, enhancing manufacturing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in our vertically integrated production lines.
You will work cross-functionally with R&D, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement innovative engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing principles and a passion for driving operational excellence in a high-tech environment.
Tanggung Jawab
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, cycle time, and cost-efficiency.
- Lead root-cause analysis for production failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new product introductions (NPI) into the production line.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards (ISO/AS9100) throughout the manufacturing process.
- Supervise process documentation updates and train technicians on new standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluate manufacturing equipment performance and drive automation or upgrades to enhance productivity.
- Conduct data-driven analysis to identify production bottlenecks and suggest viable engineering improvements.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, preferably in optics, photonics, or electronics.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) tools and data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and automation integration.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage technical projects and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Malay.
