OceanaGold is a world-class, multinational gold producer, and we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Metallurgist to join our elite technical team at our operations in Cagayan. As a Senior Metallurgist, you will be instrumental in optimizing our metallurgical processes, ensuring maximum recovery, and upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
This is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with leadership. You will work closely with plant operations, mine geology, and engineering teams to troubleshoot process bottlenecks, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor junior metallurgical staff. Tanggung Jawab
- Lead metallurgical process optimization and ensure high-efficiency recovery rates across the circuit.
- Conduct regular plant audits and technical evaluations to identify areas for process improvement.
- Manage reagent consumption and optimize chemical usage to improve cost-efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior metallurgists and process operators.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all metallurgical activities.
- Coordinate with the engineering team to oversee capital projects and process equipment upgrades.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and internal company standards.
- Analyze production data and prepare detailed technical reports for senior management review.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience in gold mining or mineral processing operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in comminution, leaching, and/or flotation circuit optimization.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical accounting and process control software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a remote or demanding site environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Current registration or eligibility for professional certification is highly preferred.
