In this critical role, you will be responsible for architecting, simulating, and optimizing complex optical systems from the ground up. You will leverage advanced tools like Zemax OpticStudio and Code V to perform rigorous tolerance analysis and ensure designs meet stringent performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. A key aspect of your mission will be to drive the successful transfer of these cutting-edge designs from the R&D stage into high-volume production, working hand-in-hand with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams.
Your day-to-day will involve deep technical problem-solving, from troubleshooting laser beam delivery systems to characterizing optical components using state-of-the-art metrology equipment (interferometers, beam profilers, spectrum analyzers). You will champion Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, ensuring that innovative optical solutions can be scaled efficiently without compromising performance. This is a role for a hands-on leader who is as comfortable in the lab aligning a complex optical train as they are leading design reviews and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Qualifications Summary:
- Master's or PhD in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design and optimize advanced laser and optical systems, including beam delivery, imaging, and illumination sub-systems, for new product development.
- Perform detailed optical simulations, tolerance analysis, and stray light analysis using Zemax OpticStudio / Code V.
- Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring the seamless transfer of optical designs from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test protocols for optical characterization, alignment, and system-level validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing) to define and meet product requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex optical and opto-mechanical issues observed during prototyping and production ramp-up.
- Evaluate and qualify new optical components and suppliers to ensure supply chain robustness and cost-effectiveness.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of optical design and manufacturing processes.
Kualifikasi
- Master's or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in optical system design, specifically involving laser sources.
- Expert proficiency in optical design software (Zemax OpticStudio or Code V is highly preferred).
- Deep understanding of optical manufacturing processes (diamond turning, polishing, coating, injection molding) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to high-volume manufacturing transfers (NPI / NPT).
- Excellent laboratory skills, including hands-on alignment of multi-element optical assemblies and use of precision metrology equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a track record of working effectively in team environments.
