Are you a seasoned expert in industrial biotechnology looking to shape the next generation of industry leaders? The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Professional Officer to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world industrial application. In this pivotal role, you will lead hands-on laboratory sessions, mentor students, and contribute to cutting-edge applied research projects that drive innovation in the biotech sector.
As a key member of our faculty-support team, you will ensure that our industrial biotechnology curriculum remains at the forefront of industry practices. You will work closely with academic staff to design and deliver high-impact training, manage sophisticated laboratory infrastructure, and foster partnerships with industry collaborators to enhance student learning outcomes.

- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality laboratory-based practical curriculum for Industrial Biotechnology modules.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of advanced bioprocessing and analytical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Mentor and guide students through complex experimental workflows, providing technical insights that bridge classroom learning with industrial requirements.
- Collaborate with faculty members to integrate current industry trends and best practices into the applied learning framework.
- Manage laboratory resources, inventory, and procurement processes to support academic and research initiatives.
- Lead research projects or consultancy work in partnership with industry stakeholders to address real-world biotechnological challenges.
- Implement and enforce rigorous workplace safety and health (WSH) protocols within the laboratory environment.
Kualifikasi
- Master’s or PhD degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or research biotechnology environment.
- Strong expertise in bioprocessing technologies, upstream/downstream processing, and analytical instrumentation.
- Proven track record in laboratory management and student or junior staff mentorship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and industry partners.
- Experience in ISO standards, GLP/GMP guidelines, or similar regulatory frameworks is highly advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to evolving biotechnological trends and translate them into pedagogical activities.
