The Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), a research institute under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Engineer to join our Advanced Forming and Joining (AFJ) / Polymer Composite Processing (PCP) team.

Tanggung Jawab
- Lead and execute research projects focused on rapid composite forming, thermoplastic processing, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Design and implement experimental setups, conduct testing, and analyze complex datasets to optimize process parameters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for industrial partner challenges.
- Author high-quality technical reports, research papers, and intellectual property documentation.
- Mentor junior research engineers and provide technical guidance on project workflows.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful research outcomes.
- Bridge the gap between theoretical R&D and pilot-scale industrial production.
Kualifikasi
- Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in composite materials, polymer processing, or advanced manufacturing research.
- Strong expertise in composite manufacturing techniques such as RTM, compression molding, or automated fiber placement.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks) for structural and process simulation.
- Proven track record of project management and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Experience in securing industrial research grants or collaborating with commercial partners is a significant advantage.
