Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Research Engineer I to join our world-class AI research division. This role is specifically focused on the cutting-edge domain of Large Multimodal Models (LMMs), where you will have the opportunity to influence the future of artificial intelligence within one of the world's most prestigious academic environments.

As part of our innovative research team, you will bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical system development. You will be responsible for architecting and training advanced models that can process and reason across various modalities, including text, images, and video. Tanggung Jawab

  • Lead the design and implementation of large-scale training pipelines for Multimodal Foundation Models.
  • Develop and optimize deep learning architectures utilizing PyTorch, JAX, or similar frameworks on large GPU clusters.
  • Conduct rigorous data engineering, including the curation and preprocessing of massive, heterogeneous datasets (text, vision, audio).
  • Collaborate with research scientists to implement and iterate on novel algorithms for cross-modal alignment and reasoning.
  • Benchmark and evaluate model performance against state-of-the-art standards using automated and human-in-the-loop systems.
  • Manage and maintain high-performance computing resources, ensuring efficient utilization of GPU/NPU hardware.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, research papers, and patents for submission to top-tier AI venues.

Kualifikasi

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field with a focus on Deep Learning.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional or post-graduate experience in AI research or software engineering.
  • Proven track record of working with Large Language Models (LLMs) or Vision Transformers (ViTs).
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and deep learning libraries such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, and DeepSpeed.
  • Experience with distributed training techniques and managing large-scale infrastructure (Slurm, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of multimodal alignment techniques (e.g., CLIP, BLIP, Flamingo-style architectures).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex research concepts into functional code.
  • Prior experience publishing in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, EMNLP) is highly desirable.
