The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is looking for a Senior Research Engineer (IF) to join the SIMTech team in Singapore and help shape the future of electronics research.
As a senior member of our interdisciplinary team, you will lead the conception, design, and development of electronic subsystems for a range of pioneering applications. Working closely with product managers and customer‑focused teams, you will translate user requirements into robust, scalable hardware solutions that meet market demands. Your responsibilities include performing feasibility studies, selecting appropriate components, creating schematic designs, and overseeing PCB layout to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
You will also be responsible for prototyping, testing, and validating electronic modules, analyzing data, and iterating designs based on test results. Collaboration is key: you will coordinate with cross‑functional teams—including software, mechanical, and systems engineers—to integrate electronics seamlessly into final products. In addition, you will contribute to technical reports, patents, and publications, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning.

Tanggung Jawab
- Lead the end‑to‑end design and development of electronic subsystems for innovative products, from concept to production.
- Perform feasibility analyses, component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout oversight to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Prototype, test, and validate electronic modules, analyzing data to drive design improvements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including software, mechanical, and systems engineers—to integrate hardware solutions into final products.

Kualifikasi
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline, with a strong focus on hardware design.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing complex electronic circuits and PCB systems, ideally in research or consumer‑electronics environments.
- Proficiency in industry‑standard EDA tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Cadence) and familiarity with embedded firmware is a plus.
- Solid understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, and EMC considerations.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, capable of working in an interdisciplinary, customer‑centric environment.
- Experience with project lifecycle management and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced research setting.
