Are you an expert in semiconductor device physics with a passion for reliability engineering? The Institute of Microelectronics (IME) at A*STAR is seeking a high-caliber Senior Scientist I to lead our Failure and Reliability Analysis initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of enhancing Gallium Nitride (GaN) device performance, working on cutting-edge research that impacts next-generation power electronics and RF technologies.
You will serve as a key subject matter expert, driving comprehensive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to solve critical customer concerns and internal R&D challenges. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of device failure, optimize fabrication processes, and push the boundaries of reliability standards in the semiconductor industry. Tanggung Jawab
- Lead root-cause analysis investigations for GaN-based power and RF devices using advanced failure analysis techniques.
- Conduct comprehensive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential device vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
- Design and oversee reliability testing protocols including HTOL, HTRB, and THB testing.
- Provide expert technical consulting to industry partners and internal R&D teams regarding device reliability and failure mechanisms.
- Document failure analysis findings and translate them into actionable process improvement recommendations.
- Mentor junior researchers and technicians in advanced laboratory techniques and analytical methodologies.
- Publish high-impact technical reports and contribute to intellectual property development within IME.
Kualifikasi
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in semiconductor failure analysis, specifically with wide-bandgap (WBG) materials like GaN or SiC.
- Deep understanding of device physics, semiconductor fabrication processes, and material characterization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with equipment such as SEM/EDX, FIB, TEM, and electrical characterization tools (I-V/C-V mapping).
- Proven track record of managing complex research projects and meeting strict industry deadlines.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into engineering solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical insights to diverse teams.
