Are you an experienced Site Engineer with a passion for material management? Giant Leap Construction Sdn Bhd is looking for a dedicated Site Engineer (Material) to oversee material operations at our project sites in Johor Bahru. This role is vital to ensuring that materials are procured, stored, and utilized efficiently to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing material management plans, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, monitoring inventory levels, and performing quality inspections on incoming materials. You will also maintain detailed records of material usage and report on key metrics to project management. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to solve problems quickly to avoid project delays.
We require a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with at least 2-3 years of experience in construction material management. Strong knowledge of construction materials, supply chain logistics, and inventory control is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Plan and coordinate material procurement schedules in alignment with project timelines.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of construction materials on site.
- Conduct quality checks on incoming materials to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate prices and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, deliveries, and inventory reports.
- Identify and resolve material-related issues or shortages promptly to avoid project delays.
- Supervise material storage and handling procedures to prevent damage or waste.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to forecast material needs and optimize costs.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in material management in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, standards, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Possess own transport and willing to work in Johor Bahru.
