The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join our growing team in Setia Alam. In this role, you will be at the forefront of providing structured, evidence-based intervention to help our students achieve their full potential.
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will work within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with therapists, parents, and caregivers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Tanggung Jawab
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique learning needs of students on the autism spectrum.
- Facilitate small group or one-on-one classroom instruction using evidence-based teaching methodologies.
- Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports for stakeholders and parents.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists.
- Provide behavioral support and implement positive behavior intervention strategies to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Engage regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student development and home-based strategies.
- Create and prepare instructional materials that are sensory-friendly and developmentally appropriate.
- Participate in regular professional development training to stay updated on best practices in autism education.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with children with autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate empathetically with students and families.
- Patience, resilience, and a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A proactive mindset and a passion for advocating for the rights and needs of the neurodivergent community.
