Databricks is at the forefront of the data and AI revolution, and we are looking for an exceptional Senior Manager, Field Engineering (Specialist) to lead our Singapore-based team of Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs). In this critical leadership position, you will not only manage a high-performing team but also drive the technical vision that enables our customers to unlock the full potential of their data.
Your team will be responsible for the most complex and strategic technical engagements, including designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines, building scalable machine learning models, and architecting Lakehouse solutions on major cloud providers. You will ensure that every engagement delivers measurable value and deepens customer trust.
As a people leader, you will create a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration. You will recruit, mentor, and retain top technical talent, setting clear goals and providing regular feedback to foster career growth. You will also be the voice of the customer, providing product feedback that shapes the Databricks roadmap.
In this role, you will build strong partnerships with sales leadership to develop account strategies, support pre-sales activities, and drive revenue growth. You will also represent Databricks at technical conferences, workshops, and executive briefings, positioning our technology as the leading solution in the data and AI space.
We are looking for a leader with deep expertise in big data technologies (Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow), cloud architectures, and experience managing technical teams in a customer-facing capacity. Strong communication and executive presence are essential.

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) in Singapore, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer obsession.
- Drive technical strategy for key accounts, overseeing complex proof-of-concept engagements and architectural validations.
- Collaborate with sales and product teams to develop and execute territory plans that accelerate revenue growth and customer adoption.
- Define and implement technical best practices for the team, ensuring consistent high-quality delivery across all engagements.
- Represent Databricks as a technical thought leader at industry events, conferences, and executive briefings.
- Recruit and onboard top technical talent to build and scale the regional field engineering team.
- Act as the customer advocate, synthesizing feedback and influencing the product roadmap to address market needs.
Kualifikasi
- 8+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Field Engineer) with at least 3 years of experience managing high-performing technical teams.
- Strong technical background in big data and AI/ML technologies, including deep expertise in Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proven experience in designing and deploying modern data architectures at scale.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills, with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain top talent in a competitive market.
- Strategic thinking and ability to align technical initiatives with business goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
