As a Steam Turbine & Generator Technical Field Advisor, you will serve as the primary technical interface between GE Vernova and our clients. You will be responsible for executing complex field service activities, including the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Steam Turbines and Generators. Your deep technical expertise will ensure that our customers’ assets operate at peak efficiency and reliability.
You will lead outage teams, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and drive a culture of safety and operational excellence at every site. This role requires extensive travel to project sites and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. At GE Vernova, we invest in our people. Tanggung Jawab
- Provide comprehensive on-site technical direction, field engineering, and project management for Steam Turbine & Generator overhauls, inspections, and repairs.
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians and contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution of field activities.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis of equipment failures and deliver corrective action plans to customers.
- Conduct steam path audits, rotor alignment, bearing inspections, and clearance verifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to all GE Vernova Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols and customer site safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain accurate documentation of site activities and findings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize maintenance strategies and implement product improvements.
- Mentor and train junior field advisors and customer personnel on best practices and standard operating procedures.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Steam Turbine and/or Generator mechanical maintenance and repair.
- Proven experience working with large rotating equipment, steam path components, and alignment techniques (e.g., laser alignment).
- Strong knowledge of GE ST&G design, operation, and maintenance procedures is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex fieldwork in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Malay is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel extensively (often on short notice) to domestic and international project sites for up to 80% of the time.
- Valid international passport and the ability to obtain necessary visas and site-specific safety certifications.
