Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) is seeking a driven Strategic Sourcing & Development (SCM) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sungai Buloh. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of our manufacturing operations, bridging the gap between vendor capabilities and our high-performance production standards.
As our Strategic Sourcing & Development Engineer, you will lead critical initiatives in cost planning, vendor relationship management, and localization projects. You will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain, ensuring that every component meets our rigorous quality benchmarks while achieving aggressive cost targets. Tanggung Jawab
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to support production schedules and operational goals.
- Lead vendor development programs to enhance supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Manage end-to-end localization projects, from initial feasibility studies to mass production implementation.
- Perform comprehensive cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive procurement pricing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production to resolve supply chain bottlenecks.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to drive cost-saving initiatives and supply security.
- Monitor and report on key SCM performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to speak Japanese is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of cost breakdown analysis and value engineering principles.
