We are seeking a highly motivated Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Flex PTP (Prototyping Team) facility in Gelang Patah, Johor. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of new product development, ensuring that the components and materials sourced for our prototypes meet rigorous quality and reliability standards.
In this role, you will serve as the primary quality interface between Flex and our global network of suppliers. You will champion quality excellence from the supplier selection phase through mass production. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough supplier audits, managing the PPAP process for new parts, and driving corrective actions for any quality discrepancies. You will analyze supplier performance data to identify trends, implement preventive measures, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within our supply chain.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned quality professional with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001), and problem-solving methodologies. You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with suppliers at all levels. Working hours: 8.30am to 6.00pm (Full Time).
Tanggung Jawab
- Manage and improve supplier quality performance through systematic audits, assessments, and performance scorecards.
- Lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new and existing components.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related non-conformances.
- Collaborate with Global Commodity Managers and cross-functional NPI teams to qualify suppliers and materials.
- Conduct onsite supplier visits to evaluate process capability, conduct quality system assessments, and resolve critical quality issues.
- Define and communicate quality expectations, test requirements, and inspection criteria to suppliers.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as PPM, DPPM, and On-Time Delivery to drive supplier development initiatives.
- Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) and support the disposition of non-conforming materials in accordance with company procedures.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or equivalent technical field).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, preferably within the EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) or high-tech manufacturing industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of quality system standards (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949) and familiarity with ISO 13485 or AS9100 is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) and structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC, 5 Why).
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions. Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally to supplier sites.
