SVP (Strategic Sourcing) - United Overseas Bank

United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a leading bank in Asia with a global network. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced SVP, Strategic Procurement Team Lead to join our Group Technology & Operations (GTO) team. In this critical role, you will be accountable for leading the Bank's technology sourcing and procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering value-driven outcomes.

As the SVP of Strategic Sourcing, you will drive transformative initiatives, manage key vendor relationships, and develop innovative procurement strategies that support UOB's digital transformation journey. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization to optimize spend, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the technology sourcing and procurement strategy in alignment with the Bank's overall goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing activities for complex technology categories, including negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key vendors to drive innovation and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in all procurement activities.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and provide procurement expertise.
• Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for value creation.
• Drive supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives within the procurement function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Proven track record in leading technology sourcing and managing complex vendor relationships.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in digital transformation and technology procurement is highly desirable.
