Are you ready to lead the operations that power Google Maps' incredible Street View experience? We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to join our Street View Operations team in Singapore. In this high-impact role, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of data collection programs across the Asia Pacific region, driving strategic initiatives that directly enhance the accuracy, coverage, and freshness of Google Maps.
As a TPM, you will lead cross-functional teams to define requirements, manage complex schedules, and mitigate risks. You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Quality, and Legal teams to launch new collection methods and optimize existing ones. Your deep technical background will enable you to converse fluently with engineers about hardware, firmware, software, and machine learning models. You will manage third-party vendors and navigate local regulations to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will build from scratch, scale operations, and pioneer new technologies. - Lead complex, cross-functional data collection programs for Street View in the APAC region.
- Define program roadmaps, success metrics, and milestones in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Manage vendor relationships, RFPs, and contract negotiations for specialized data collection equipment and services.
- Drive operational excellence through process improvements, automation, and the adoption of AI/ML techniques for data processing.
- Coordinate with local authorities and internal compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence for data collection activities.
- Analyze program data (cost, quality, timeline) to provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Champion the technical integration of new hardware and software systems into the existing operational pipeline.
- Foster a culture of innovation, identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies (e.g., AR, 3D mapping) to enhance Street View.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in technical program management, operations management, or a similar role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder programs involving hardware, software, and field operations.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and debate engineering design choices, system architecture, and data pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with international teams and managing programs across multiple countries and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects to completion in a dynamic environment.
- [Preferred] MBA or Master's degree in a related field. Experience in the mapping, geospatial, or autonomous vehicle industries is a plus.
