Are you ready to shape the future of global connectivity? Google is seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Infrastructure team in Singapore. In this mission-critical role, you will be the driving force behind the end-to-end execution of complex subsea cable deployments.
You will bridge the gap between technical engineering, marine operations, and global stakeholders to ensure our subsea network architecture remains robust, scalable, and future-proof. As part of the Google Cloud infrastructure team, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to navigate regulatory challenges, oversee contractor performance, and deliver high-capacity bandwidth that powers Google's services for billions of users worldwide.
Tanggung Jawab
- Manage the full lifecycle of subsea cable system projects, from initial feasibility studies and route surveys to cable installation and system commissioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams, including Legal, Finance, Network Engineering, and Public Policy, to secure necessary permits and landing rights.
- Direct external vendors, marine survey teams, and installation contractors to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Develop and maintain complex project schedules, managing risks and mitigating delays in volatile offshore environments.
- Lead vendor negotiations and contract management to ensure cost-efficiency and performance delivery throughout the build lifecycle.
- Represent Google in technical consortia and stakeholder meetings regarding global subsea infrastructure development.
- Monitor and report on project status, budget allocation, and technical milestones to senior leadership.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure project management, specifically within the subsea telecommunications or marine construction industry.
- Deep understanding of subsea cable system design, including optical fiber technology, marine route planning, and cable laying procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-stakes vendor relationships and negotiate complex supply chain contracts.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders across different time zones and cultural backgrounds.
- Familiarity with international maritime laws and environmental regulatory requirements for subsea infrastructure.
