We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Tool Room Manager to lead our tool room operations at Tidy Group of Companies in Muar, Johor. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the tool room, including inventory control, maintenance scheduling, team supervision, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include managing the procurement and storage of cutting tools, precision instruments, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling equipment, coordinating with production teams to anticipate tooling needs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to maximize tool life and minimize downtime. You will also be responsible for training and supervising a team of tool room technicians, monitoring tool usage and performance, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in tooling and machining, proven leadership experience, and excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, along with knowledge of inventory management systems and lean manufacturing principles.

Tanggung Jawab
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the tool room, including inventory control and storage of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring equipment.
- Coordinate with production and engineering departments to ensure timely availability of tools required for manufacturing processes.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to extend tool life and reduce equipment downtime.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate tool room staff, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor tool usage and performance, analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage procurement of tooling materials and negotiate with suppliers to obtain cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, issue/return logs, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices in tool management.
Kualifikasi
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tool room management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of precision tooling, machining processes, and tool materials.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP software.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
