Reporting directly into the global Ethics leadership, this role is pivotal in managing high-stakes investigations and promoting ethical decision-making across the entire APAC region.
We are seeking an experienced Ethics and Compliance Manager specializing in investigations. You will be the go-to person for complex, sensitive internal investigations in APAC. Partnering closely with Legal, Human Resources, and Information Security teams, you will ensure thorough, fair, and confidential resolutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage internal investigations related to potential violations of the Code of Conduct, including fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, and harassment.
- Develop investigation plans, conduct employee interviews, review documents and data, and draft comprehensive investigation reports.
- Provide strategic advice to business leaders and HR on corrective actions, remediation, and disciplinary measures.
- Partner with global and local stakeholders to continuously improve the ethics program, policies, and procedures.
- Design and deliver engaging training on ethics, investigations, and compliance topics to diverse audiences across APAC.
- Monitor regulatory developments in the APAC region and advise on their impact on ByteDance's operations and ethics framework.
- Manage external counsel and vendors where necessary to support investigations and compliance projects.
Tanggung Jawab
- Lead and manage complex, cross-border internal investigations across the APAC region, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Conduct thorough forensic interviews, evidence collection, and data analysis to support investigative findings.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-reasoned investigation reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Partner with Legal, HR, and Security teams to align on investigation strategies and appropriate remediation plans.
- Provide expert ethics advice to employees and business leaders, promoting a culture of integrity and speak-up.
- Support the continuous improvement of the global investigation framework, case management system, and related policies.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs focused on ethics, the Code of Conduct, and investigation awareness.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree or above in Law, Compliance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A JD or advanced degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in conducting internal investigations, corporate compliance, or forensic accounting, preferably at a tech company or leading professional services firm.
- Strong understanding of compliance and ethics principles, including investigation best practices, data privacy laws, and local labor laws across APAC.
- Exceptional interviewing, analytical, and report-writing skills in English. Fluency in an additional APAC language (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- A strong ethical compass, sound judgment, and ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed global organization is a distinct advantage.
- Certification such as CFE, CCEP, or CCEP-I is preferred.
