In this hybrid role, you will oversee the accurate assignment of Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) codes for inpatient records, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maximizing reimbursement accuracy. Your leadership will directly impact our team's performance and quality outcomes.

Tanggung Jawab
- Supervise and mentor a team of inpatient DRG coders, providing guidance on complex coding scenarios and maintaining productivity standards
- Conduct regular quality audits on coded records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with CMS guidelines and facility policies
- Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) specialists to resolve coding discrepancies and improve documentation quality
- Develop and implement coding policies, procedures, and training programs to enhance team performance and regulatory compliance
- Monitor productivity metrics and coordinate workflow to meet department turnaround time goals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated coding issues, working closely with HIM leadership and revenue cycle teams
- Stay current with updates to ICD-10-CM, PCS codes, and DRG classification changes to ensure team awareness and adaptation
Kualifikasi
- Active credential as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-R from AHIMA or equivalent certifications from AAPC
- Minimum of 3 years of inpatient medical coding experience with strong DRG classification expertise
- At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience in a healthcare coding environment
- In-depth knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG systems, as well as inpatient coding guidelines (UHDDS, CCS)
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Meditech or EPIC
- Understanding of healthcare billing regulations, payer requirements, and compliance standards (HIPAA, CMS)
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
