Tanggung Jawab
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient medical records across various service lines (Low Acuity, OB/NB, Acute Psych, 1-day stays).
- Abstract clinical information from medical records to ensure complete and compliant coding.
- Review clinical documentation to support code assignment and ensure appropriate reimbursement.
- Query physicians and clinical staff regarding unclear or conflicting documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain high productivity and accuracy standards (>95%) in a remote workflow environment.
- Stay current with coding guidelines, regulatory changes (ICD-10, MS-DRG, etc.), and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with the coding team and management to resolve complex coding issues and improve processes.
- Protect patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA and company data privacy policies.
Kualifikasi
- Must possess an active AHIMA or AAPC coding credential (CCS, CIC, or CPC preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient coding experience in a US hospital setting.
- Specific experience coding Low Acuity, OB/NB, Acute Psych, and 1-day stay patients is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding conventions, MS-DRG assignment, and medical terminology.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems, EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and encoder tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently in a WFH setup with stable internet connection and dedicated workspace.
