About the Role
The Lead Machinist is responsible for performing diverse general maintenance and production activities. You will interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to set up and operate a variety of machinery with precision. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong ability to maintain equipment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a wide range of CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-quality components.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality control checks and inspections to ensure parts meet strict industry standards.
- Lead and train junior machinists, providing technical guidance and support.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety protocols and ISO quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible shifts if required.
