Genting Plantations Berhad is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Legal Manager to join our team in South Jakarta. In this critical role, you will be the cornerstone of our legal operations, providing expert counsel to support our palm oil plantation activities in Indonesia. You will be responsible for navigating complex regulatory landscapes, managing corporate compliance, and mitigating legal risks associated with large-scale agricultural operations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of Indonesian agrarian laws, forestry regulations, and corporate governance. You will work closely with senior management to facilitate sustainable growth while ensuring all business units adhere to national and international legal standards. Tanggung Jawab
- Provide expert legal advice and support on all matters related to palm oil plantation operations, land acquisition, and environmental compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including joint venture agreements, land leases, and service provider contracts.
- Manage corporate secretarial functions and ensure full compliance with Indonesian corporate law and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Represent the company in legal disputes, mediation, and litigation, acting as the primary liaison with external counsel and government authorities.
- Advise leadership on changes to legislation and regulations, specifically those impacting the plantation and agribusiness industry.
- Oversee internal due diligence processes for potential acquisitions or new business ventures.
- Maintain and organize legal documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and regulatory compliance status.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a reputable university; a Master’s degree (LL.M.) or specialized certification in Agrarian Law is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of professional legal experience, with at least 5 years specifically within the Indonesian Palm Oil or Agribusiness sector.
- Strong expertise in Indonesian Land Law (Agraria), Forestry regulations, and Environmental permits.
- Active PERADI license (Advocate) is mandatory.
- Proven ability to manage high-stakes negotiations and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with excellent legal drafting skills in both languages.
- High level of integrity, professional ethics, and analytical problem-solving skills.
