VDL ETG is a globally recognized high-tech multinational specializing in precision engineering, mechatronics, and modular assembly. We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Material Planner to join our Systems Integration Department (SID) on a 1-year renewable contract basis.
In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support our production demands. You will be responsible for monitoring material requirements, mitigating shortages, optimizing inventory, and driving supply chain efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to contribute to high-tech manufacturing in a fast-paced environment at our state-of-the-art facility in Joo Koon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and drive material needs for the Systems Integration Department based on production forecasts and customer orders.
- Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) and material demand to ensure timely availability of components.
- Coordinate with global and local suppliers to manage delivery schedules, resolve shortages, and expedite critical parts.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production continuity while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Generate material status reports and communicate risks effectively to management and production teams.
- Support Engineering Changes (ECO) and New Product Introduction (NPI) by planning material phase-in and phase-out.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in the high-tech, semiconductor, or precision engineering sector is a distinct advantage.

- Identify and implement supply chain process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Generate and present material status reports to management and cross-functional teams, highlighting risks and mitigation plans.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Changes (ECO) by managing material phase-in and phase-out.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Planning departments to ensure seamless material flow.
Kualifikasi
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QAD).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in the high-tech, semiconductor, or precision engineering industry is strongly desired.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data analysis and reporting.
