We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and reliable individual to fill the role of Minimart Assistant / Cashier in our busy store located in Ang Mo Kio. Our minimart is a go-to destination for the local community, offering a wide range of groceries, household essentials, and convenience items. As a Minimart Assistant/Cashier, you will be the heartbeat of our store. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around delivering outstanding customer service. You will greet customers warmly, handle purchases at the checkout counter with speed and accuracy, and ensure every transaction is smooth and pleasant. You will be expected to have a deep knowledge of our product range to assist customers with their queries effectively.
Beyond the cash register, your role is integral to the store's overall success. You will take charge of maintaining impeccable store standards. This includes organizing shelves with attractive product displays, ensuring pricing is accurate, monitoring inventory levels, and promptly restocking items. You will also assist in receiving deliveries, checking them against invoices, and storing goods correctly. A keen eye for detail is required to check product expiry dates and ensure all items meet our high-quality standards. Furthermore, you will support the store management in keeping the premises clean, safe, and organized, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.

- Greet customers warmly and provide an exceptional in-store shopping experience.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payment transactions with meticulous attention to detail.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, locate items, and offer helpful recommendations.
- Stock shelves, racks, and displays promptly while ensuring products are rotated and fresh.
- Monitor and check product expiry dates to maintain quality control and reduce waste.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, verify against invoices, and organize storeroom stock.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe store environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
Kualifikasi
- Prior experience in retail, cashiering, or F&B is an advantage, but not required (comprehensive training provided).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong numerical skills and meticulous attention to detail for cash handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting (up to 10kg).
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic and team spirit.
- Flexible availability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Must be able to speak English; ability to speak other local languages (e.g., Mandarin, Malay) is a definite plus.
