The National Food Authority (NFA) is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Pest Control Officer to join our team in the Ilocos Region. In this critical role, you will be responsible for implementing comprehensive pest management strategies to protect our food stockpiles and warehouse facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring food security by maintaining high sanitation standards and preventing losses due to infestations.
The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) with a strong commitment to regulatory compliance and safety protocols. You will work closely with facility management to monitor storage environments, conduct routine inspections, and execute preventative treatments in accordance with government and food safety standards.
Tanggung Jawab
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouses and storage facilities to identify signs of pest activity.
- Implement and monitor integrated pest management (IPM) programs to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Apply approved pesticides and control agents in strict accordance with safety guidelines and chemical regulations.
- Maintain detailed logs of pest sightings, chemical applications, and equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to enforce sanitation practices and structural improvements to prevent pest entry.
- Prepare periodic reports on pest control performance and stock protection status for management review.
- Ensure compliance with food safety protocols and environmental health standards established by the government.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Biology, Entomology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in pest control, warehouse management, or environmental health is highly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of food storage sanitation and integrated pest management principles.
- Ability to operate and calibrate pest control equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and solve pest-related problems.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for reporting purposes.
- Must be willing to work on-site in the Ilocos Region and adhere to rigorous safety protocols.
- Professional certification in pesticide handling or related fields is an advantage.
