We are currently seeking a meticulous and strategic Quantity Surveyor to take full ownership of the commercial and financial aspects of our diverse portfolio of projects based in Woodlands, North Region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven QS to make a tangible impact on project profitability and operational efficiency.
Working closely with project management, design, and procurement teams, you will be the financial linchpin of our operations, providing accurate costings, managing budgets, and ensuring robust financial control from inception to final completion. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing detailed cost plans and tender documentation. You will lead the evaluation and negotiation of subcontractor and supplier bids, administer contracts, conduct regular site valuations, manage variation orders, and prepare final accounts. A key part of your role is value engineering—strategically identifying cost-saving opportunities without ever compromising on quality or safety standards.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and numerical skills, a comprehensive understanding of local construction methods and contractual frameworks, and excellent negotiation abilities. You should be comfortable communicating complex financial data to diverse stakeholders and working independently in a fast-paced environment. Tanggung Jawab
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for construction projects.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and award subcontractor and supplier contracts to optimize project value.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and measure quantities of work executed.
- Manage interim valuations, progress claims, variation orders, and final account settlements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide commercial advice and drive value engineering initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring strict adherence to project budgets.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial reconciliations for management review.
Kualifikasi
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the Construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., PSSCOC, SIA) and measurement standards (e.g., SMM).
- Proficiency in cost management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Membership with SISV, RICS, or equivalent professional body is highly advantageous.
