We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to join our project team in Kuching. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in fostering a 'Safety First' culture, ensuring strict compliance with local occupational safety and health regulations, and mitigating risks across our construction sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing comprehensive safety programs, conducting site inspections, and maintaining valid documentation required by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). Tanggung Jawab
- Develop, implement, and monitor Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management systems to ensure compliance with DOSH requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Organize and conduct safety training and induction programs for all employees and subcontractors.
- Manage and maintain all OSH documentation, including site reports, JSA (Job Safety Analysis), and incident records.
- Coordinate with site management to ensure all heavy machinery and equipment undergo regular safety inspections.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, government officials, and safety committees.
- Investigate all workplace accidents or near-misses and provide comprehensive reports with preventive recommendations.
Kualifikasi
- Must be a registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
- Possess a valid SHO Green Book (Competent Person).
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in the construction or industrial sector.
- Strong working knowledge of OSH Act 1994, FMA 1967, and related regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse site teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and travel between sites in Sarawak as required.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office) for documentation and reporting purposes.
