Synchrony is looking for a detailâoriented Senior Specialist, Finance Controllership â Client Settlement to join our finance team in Cebu City. In this role you will be responsible for nonâfunding client settlement activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of merchant adjustments, cardholder research of suspense items, and wire preparation.
You will collaborate closely with Operations, Risk, and Treasury to resolve settlement discrepancies, maintain robust reconciliation, and uphold compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help drive process improvements, reduce settlement cycle times, and enhance the overall client experience.
Key responsibilities include managing settlement operations, preparing and executing wire transfers, investigating suspense items, reconciling client accounts, and preparing financial reports for management review. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, proven experience in settlement or controllership functions, and the ability to thrive in a fastâpaced environment.

- Manage nonâfunding client settlement activities, including processing merchant adjustments and resolving suspense items.
- Prepare and execute wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough cardholder research to investigate and resolve disputed transactions and suspense accounts.
- Reconcile client accounts and ensure timely settlement of outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with crossâfunctional teams to improve settlement processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis for management review, highlighting settlement trends and risk indicators.
- Maintain robust internal controls and adhere to SOX compliance standards in all settlement operations.
- Act as a point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, providing timely updates and resolution of settlementârelated inquiries.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, controllership, or settlement operations within a financial services or banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for financial data analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex transaction data and resolve discrepancies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and internal teams.
- Detailâoriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in a highâvolume setting.
- Ability to work in a fastâpaced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
